// services · wordpress to astro

Move your WordPress site to Astro. Keep your URLs, lose the maintenance.

For company and content sites where WordPress has become the part you maintain rather than use. A static site that loads in a fraction of the time, with every page still where Google expects it.

// proof · our own site

We moved our own site first.

// a good fit

Move it to Astro if your site is mostly content.

  • →Company, marketing and brochure sites that change a few times a month
  • →Blogs and content sites where the posts matter more than the admin
  • →Sites where plugin and core updates are the main maintenance cost
  • →Sites that need a cookie banner only because of the tools WordPress loads
  • →Anyone tired of security patches for a site that is mostly text and images
// better left on wordpress

Keep WordPress if the admin is the product.

  • ×WooCommerce stores with carts, stock and customer accounts
  • ×Membership, course or booking sites built on WordPress plugins
  • ×Newsrooms where many editors publish every day in the WordPress admin

// what you get

Everything the old site did, minus the upkeep.

Every URL kept

Pages keep their addresses. Anything that has to move gets a permanent 301 redirect, including old sitemap and feed URLs.

SEO carried over

Titles, descriptions, headings, canonical URLs, structured data and the sitemap are rebuilt from your content, then compared against the old site.

Static pages

Every page is plain HTML built ahead of time with Astro. Nothing to patch, no database to break, and pages that load in a fraction of the time.

Your content, moved

Posts, pages and images are exported from WordPress and converted, not retyped. Images go through a pipeline that makes modern, correctly sized files.

Forms without plugins

Contact forms post to a small server endpoint with spam filtering and send to your own mailbox. No form plugin, no third-party tracker.

Hosting included

We host and look after it: on our own EU servers for clients in the EU, or in your region elsewhere. Deploys, backups and monitoring included.

// how it runs

Five steps, one fixed price.

  1. 01

    Audit

    We crawl the current site: every URL, template, plugin, form and the SEO data attached to each page. You get a written scope and a fixed price.

  2. 02

    Rebuild

    Your design, rebuilt in Astro, or refreshed at the same time if you want. Templates first, then components your content can reuse.

  3. 03

    Migrate content

    Posts, pages and media are exported and converted. Nothing is copied by hand, so nothing is quietly lost.

  4. 04

    Redirects and SEO check

    A redirect map for every old URL, then a side-by-side check of titles, descriptions, headings and structured data against the WordPress site.

  5. 05

    Launch and watch

    We switch the domain, submit the new sitemap to Google and Bing, and watch Search Console for errors in the weeks after launch.

We build with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, which is how our own move took eight days. A senior engineer reviews every change, and the code is yours.

// pricing

What a migration usually costs.

Most migrations are priced like a new site of the same kind, because that is what you get. The exact number depends on your site, and you get it as a fixed price in the proposal.

static site · usuallyfrom €3,000

Your site rebuilt in Astro, content migrated, redirects and SEO check included. We make content changes for you.

headless site · usuallyfrom €6,000

The same, plus a headless CMS your editors log into to publish without us.

after launch€49 / month

Static site subscription: hosted and maintained, minimum 12 months. Larger sites move to a care plan.

Typical starting points in EUR, excl. VAT, not a quote. Your fixed price comes in a written proposal after a short call. All prices are on the pricing page.

// questions

What people ask before they move.

Will we lose our Google rankings?+

The rankings belong to your URLs and your content, and both move with the site. Every old URL either stays the same or redirects permanently to its new address, and we check titles, descriptions and headings page by page. Any migration can cause a short wobble while Google recrawls. Complete redirects are what keep it short.

How do we edit content after the move?+

There are three options. We make the changes for you on a monthly plan (the static site subscription is €49 / month). Your team edits Markdown files in Git. Or we connect a headless CMS your editors log into, which is usually priced like a headless site (from €6,000).

Can you keep our current design?+

Yes. We can rebuild it as it is, or refresh it during the move. The proposal prices both separately, so you can choose.

What about search, comments and forms?+

Forms move to a small server endpoint. Site search can run from a static index built with the site. Comments are rarely worth moving; if you need them, we will suggest the lightest option.

We run WooCommerce. Can that move too?+

Usually not to a static site. Stores, memberships and booking systems need a live backend. We will tell you honestly when WordPress is still the right tool, and we still build and maintain WordPress sites when it is.

How long does it take?+

It depends on how many templates and pages you have. Our own 20-page site took eight days from the first commit to the live domain. Your proposal gives you a fixed launch date.

Send the address. We look at it before the call and tell you what moving would take, or honestly that it should stay where it is.
